Financial funding opportunities


There are fantastic doctoral funding opportunities available to consider when applying to undertake a PhD at the Auckland Law School.

University of Auckland Law School's Dean's Doctoral Scholarships

These exciting new scholarships were established in 2016. You will automatically be considered for one of these fully funded scholarships if your PhD application is approved. Find out more.


Faculty of Law Doctoral Fellowship

When you are accepted to study for a PhD at the Auckland Law School, not only will you automatically be considered for a Dean's Doctoral Scholarship, you will have the opportunity to apply for a Faculty of Law Doctoral Fellowship, which entitles the recipient to part-time work within the faculty assisting academics. University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarships

The University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarship covers tuition fees and provides an annual allowance of NZ$27,000 in the form of a fortnightly stipend. When you apply for a place at the University of Auckland, you are automatically considered for this scholarship too. In order to qualify, international students' applications for doctoral studies need to have been accepted by 30 June, and domestic students by 30 September annually. The Scholarship may, however, be awarded at any time for applicants with a GPA of 8.  Find out more.
