Profile

Simon teaches the law school's advocacy course and coaches mooting teams from the University of Auckland at national and international levels. He practises as a barrister at Bankside Chambers in Auckland, and has appeared in cases at all levels of the New Zealand Court system. He has LLM degrees from the University of Auckland and Columbia University in New York, and was an Associate in Law at Columbia Law School from 1997-1999. His experience includes a secondment as Crown Counsel at the Crown Law Office in Wellington, and he is a consulting editor of Introduction to Advocacy (2nd ed 2008). He is also the Director of the Legal Research Foundation.
