Tena koutou katoa nga hunga akonga e hiahia ana ki to uru mai ki tenei wananga. Ko tetaki mokopuna ahau na Te Roroa me Ngati Porou no te whenua a Te Tai Tokerau me Te Tai Rawhiti.

I am from the iwi of Te Roroa/Ngapuhi and Ngati Porou. I teach Criminal Law, Jurisprudence and Women and the Law in the LLB programme and Comparative Indigenous Peoples and the Law as an LLM paper. My research interests lie within those fields; in particular Māori and the criminal justice system, tikanga Māori and the law, restorative justice and alternative dispute resolution, Māori women and the law, indigenous peoples and the law.

Prior to joining the faculty in 1998, I practiced in criminal and family law for three years.
