Applying for a programme
After you have completed the personal details and academic history sections, follow the online instructions to apply for a programme (degree, diploma, or certificate).
• If you are applying for LLB Part II, you should submit your Application for Admission by 1st December 2011, and should select ‘Law’ for your specialisation.
• If you are applying for LLB Part I, you should submit your Application for Admission by
8th December 2011, and should select ‘Law Pt I’ for your specialisation. LLB Part I applicants should consult the 2012 Undergraduate Law Prospectus.
You can apply at any time during the year, even before you have received your NCEA/CIE or university results. You can apply for more than one programme (eg LLB, BA, and BA /LLB Conjoint) — up to a maximum of six per term (semester).
Simply complete your application for the first programme, then click to apply for another one. Or you can come back later to apply for another programme.
After you submit an application
• You will receive an acknowledgement email from the University.
• That email will tell you if there is any documentation we require from you in order to complete the processing of your application.
Checking the status of your application
When you want to check the completion and progress of your application, sign in to the Application for Admission. A summary page will appear that shows the status of your application(s).
Application status
• After you have provided all the required information, your application will be considered by the University.
• You’ll receive an email to let you know whether you have been offered a place in the programme or your application has been declined.
• The decision will also show on your application summary page.
Offers of place for LLB Part II are usually notified around the end of December. Offers of place for
LLB Part I are usually notified around the end of January/early February. If you have not heard by early February you should contact the Faculty of Law.

Having accepted your offer of place, you can enrol online in the courses you wish to study. See “Enrolling in classes” section for more details. If you are unable to access the Student Services Online (SSO) website, please call 0800 61 62 63, or come into the Student Information Centre at Room 112, Level 1, the Clock Tower, 22 Princes Street, Auckland.
If you are a new student, you cannot enroll until you have:
1. Applied for admission to a programme.
2. Been offered a place in the programme.
3. Accepted the offer.
Although you have been admitted to Law, the Faculty does not guarantee you a place in the stream of your choice or the classes of your choice. Enrol as early as you can to avoid disappointment.
Steps:
1. Sign into SSO and click the Enrol button.
2. Select the term (semester) you want. Search for a course using either My programme requirements to browse courses for your programme or Class Search if you already know the course you need to enrol in.
3. Select the course you want and click View all classes on the results table to see the classes offered for that course.
4. Select the class you want and select programme if you are active in more than one, before adding it to your enrolment cart. You can see your proposed timetable and fix any clashes.
5. If everything is OK, select classes from your enrolment cart. Click the enrol button. Confirm your enrolment and accept the terms and conditions.
6. Click the FINISH ENROLLING button.
7. View the result. If the result shows something that’s preventing you from enrolling in a class, look for a Concessions button below the results. If it’s there, it means you’re allowed to apply for a concession online for permission to enrol in the class.

However, if you are currently enrolled at The University of Auckland in 2011, and will continue with your existing program(s), there is no need to make a new application. You can go straight to “Enrolling in classes” section.
