Specialisations

The Faculty of Law has SIX specialisations to choose from.

Master of Laws (LLM)

The LLM by coursework offers law graduates an opportunity to study areas in greater depth and complexity than within a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) programme.

Master of Legal Studies (MLS)

The Masters of Legal Studies (MLS) is for graduates who do not have a Law undergraduate degree but whose work involves legal issues and dealing with legislation.

Postgraduate Certificate in Law (PGCertLaw)

The Postgraduate Certificate in Law (PGCertLaw) is effectively half of an LLM or MLS.

Certificate of Proficiency (COP)

Members of the legal profession and others who wish to further their legal education can enrol in single courses.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

This is a thesis-only research degree usually requiring full-time study for three to four years at The University of Auckland.

Non Credit Enrolments

For law professionals who want to expand their knowledge without having to complete the research assessment.
