Faculty of Law

Careers

A postgraduate qualification from the Faculty of Law's Postgraduate Centre is an excellent career move.

Whether you are a junior solicitor just starting out in your field, a seasoned practitioner or a professional who works with the law without a formal legal qualification, this qualification will be a great asset to you and your employer, present and future.

Career opportunities are varied with this qualification. Most legal profession opportunities are advertised in local publications, which are available for reading in the various common rooms available to our postgraduate students.

The Faculty of Law works with the University Careers Services to help students participate in the Law Graduate Recruitment Programme that is held each March. The organisations that participate in this programme are mostly (but not exclusively) national and medium to large law firms. They recruit for two types of positions - Summer Clerks (typically Part III students) and Law Clerks (for final-year students seeking graduate positions). Summer Clerk opportunities often lead to employment after your studies have finished.
