Research Centre for Business Law (RCBL)
The Research Centre for Business Law - established in 1993 - aims to promote advanced business and commercial law research in New Zealand.
The centre combines the expertise of the academic staff at the Faculty of Law and the Department of Commercial Law in the School of Business and Economics at The University of Auckland.
Pursuit of its objectives, the centre runs a number of activities. These include organising lectures, conferences, and seminars by resident and visiting experts for the benefit of lawyers, accountants, and members of the financial and business communities in general. The centre also aims to establish and promote publications in business law studies. Toward this end it sponsors publication of the New Zealand Business Law Quarterly, currently under the editorship of Professor Peter Watts of the University of Auckland Faculty of Law, and Associate Professor Susan Watson of the Department of Commercial Law in the School of Business and Economics at The University of Auckland.
The current Director of the Research Centre for Business Law is Professor Rick Bigwood of the Faculty of Law at The University of Auckland.
