Law student wins two Zonta awards

Danielle Newton, who is  studying for a conjoint degree in law and arts, has won two Zonta awards worth close to $6000 to further her studies.

She was one of 10 recipients from 32 international contenders to win Zonta International’s prestigious Young Woman in Public Affairs Award, having won the New Zealand equivalent earlier this year. Danielle has an interest in human rights and international relations and received the awards because she impressed the judges as “a young woman with the vision and potential to contribute fully to society where inequalities exist”. They acknowledged her academic achievement and her activity with Amnesty International, United Nations youth, surf lifesaving and high level sport.
