The Law School hosted a delegation from the Ministry of Land and Resources of the Peoples Republic of China on Thursday 21 February 2013.

This group researches land and resources law and policy in China, and advises the Ministry of Land and Resources on such matters as property and cadastral management, land registration systems, and mining and natural resources use and management. These are all areas in which New Zealand has developed innovative legislation, policy and practice in recent years.

David Grinlinton presented to the group on land ownership structures in New Zealand, restrictions on overseas investment, New Zealand’s automated land registration system, mineral and resource management, and related dispute resolution systems.
